Inna Style and Fashion: Collie Buddz webisode on Largeup.com

When Bermudan reggae crossover artist Collin Harper aka Collie Buddz, came to New York to perform at Rice and Peas, we knew we had to get something exclusive with him and it had to be dope. We decided with some fresh threads, Collie would make for a great fashion shoot. We hit up stylist Carolyn Castro who pulled some seriously fly gear from Nike Sportswear, Boundless, Carrera and some other brands. We took Collie around Chinatown for some gritty, authentically downtown backdrops and took some shots at Santos Party House, where he had just sound-checked for the big show.

Mr. Harper was super cool and gave Carolyn and Largeup’s own Martei Korley total creative control, he was cool, humble and cooperative about the shoot and we have the a dope webisode to prove it!

New Re-Opened Flier by Brent Rollins

I recently suggested we get a new flier for Re-Open-ed Fridays at Santos while at a meeting dicussing the weekly event with Just Blaze, DJ Soul, the new hosts and the Santos people. I said, "let's get a celebrated artist within our circles that people will get excited about." I threw a few names around, but as soon as I mentioned Brent Rollins, it was a wrap!

Rollins is an undeniable force in the fields of graphic design, graffiti and illustration. As art director for Ego Trips (Magazines, Books, VH1 TV shows, etc) Brent has remained relevant while many have come and gone.

His first big break was with his college chum, John Singleton's Boyz N Da Hood (for which he did the super recognizable logo). From there he started to hear from Don Cornelius for whom he produced a "new" look for Soul Train as they attempted to update their format.

The list goes on, Mo Betta Blues, Poetic Justice... Streetwaer collabs with Stussy, Undftd and many more. Then the album covers, Black Star album (what?!), Blackalicious, Gangstarr's The Ownerz, Spankrock, dude has spanned several eras!

Check out a few of his gems...
